Movement is often tied to a goal:
fitness, strength, a certain shape.

That’s wonderful.
But what if we dive a little deeper?

What if we make space to simply be with the body, with no aim, no postures to learn, no choreography to follow?

No plans.
No weights.
No postures.

Just stepping out of our heads and into our feeling.

In the sessions we direct our attention towards the sensational information our bodies contain and use to communicate with us.

Through gentle, mindful exercises, we explore what’s already there.
Some are tiny movements, some are more like dance. You may warm up and even sweat, but you set your own pace - no fitness level needed.

We tune into the signals our body uses to communicate with us, like sensation, tension, impulse, and emotion, and playfully connect with our nervous system through movement and stillness.

Along the way, we make room for joy and let some of the stress of the working week move through.

We also practice proprioception, our inner sense of where the body is and how it moves through space, and emotional kinesthetics: noticing how feelings show up as sensations in the body.

At its heart, somatic movement is a practice of self-trust and compassion.

What you take home:

  • An early-warning system: Learn to notice your body’s signals sooner, so you can respond to stress before it builds up.

  • Trust in your own body:
(Re-)Discover/ Deepen how to read sensation, tension, and impulse, and how to trust what you find.

  • The skill of joy:
Joy isn’t just a mood that happens to us. It’s something we can practice, and you’ll feel what that’s like.

  • Simple tools for everyday life: Small exercises you can use at your desk, on the train, or before bed to ground, calm, or recharge yourself.

  • A kinder relationship with yourself: No performance, no comparison, no perfection.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in freely

  • Layers, so you can adapt to your body’s temperature as it changes (we may warm up, and we’ll also rest)

  • Clean Gym shoes or dance shoes (barefoot is always an option)

  • A water bottle

  • A shawl for the quiet moments

  • A notebook and a pen

  • Your own yoga mat, if you have one (otherwise just let us know)
